REFSA’s main objectives are:
- to conduct research on social, economic and contemporary issues affecting Malaysians;
- to serve as a centre for intellectual interaction with the objective of advancing human and social development amongst all Malaysians.
- to articulate and disseminate information and help in the formulation of local, state and national policies.
REFSA aims to:
- identify and undertake research on social, economic and contemporary issues and policies of both academic and practical interests;
- provide advisory and research services to the general public on social, economic and contemporary issues;
- provide independent views and recommendations on issues of national, social, economic and contemporary policies;
- play an intermediary role in the public and private sectors and serve as a centre for research in social, economic and contemporary issues via cooperation and collaboration with other similar entities;
- organise and conduct workshops, symposia and conferences to promote discussion and policy formulation.
